A Walthourville home was damaged by a lightning strike Sunday afternoon during a storm.

The single-family home in the 200 block of Kevin Road was hit above the garage.

Walthourville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief Terry Satterfield said flames were coming from the eaves and in the attic. Units from Liberty County Fire Station 15 and Long County assisted, and the fire was contained.

No people were injured, but a pet cat was killed.
