Man charged in Walthourville fatal shooting

A man has been arrested in connection with the early Wednesday shooting that left one man dead and another injured in Walthourville.

Dwayne Dotson, 27, turned himself in less than an hour after the incident and was charged with aggravated assault and booked into the Liberty County Jail, according to a news release issued by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.

The release says more charges against Dotson are anticipated as the sheriff’s Detective Division continues to investigate.

Authorities were dispatched to a mobile home park at 1595 Dunlevie Road around 2:15 a.m., the release says. Liberty Regional EMS, Walthourville police and the Sheriff’s Office responded.

Responding officers found two people who had been shot. Frank Willingham was airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. Jamell Devante Brown, 28, was dead, the news release says.
