One controlled burn on post today

Fort Stewart Forest Branch is planning one burn today, but it will be a big one, according to a news release from post:

• 1,336 acres about 14 miles northeast of the cantonement area, 11.5 miles northeast of the Lawson fire tower. Flames should not be visible from Highways 144 East.

Predicted winds are out of the east at 6-10 mph so smoke will be blown toward Richmond Hill, not into Liberty County.
