Police: Man flees officers in Allenhurst, is run over by his vehicle
GSP accident

A Liberty County deputy patrolling the St. Johns Road area in Allenhurst around 3 a.m. Saturday following a rash of vehicle break-ins spotted a vehicle speeding through the area.

Georgia State Patrol Trooper Jamie Quinn said the deputy, Brandon Calhoun, chased the 2001 Lexus RX 300 driven by Randall Beasley, 45, of Hinesville. The chase ended in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street in Allenhurst.

Beasley reportedly opened the vehicle door while it was still in motion. As he did so, the car struck a ditch, and the impact threw him out of the vehicle, which then ran over him, causing head and chest trauma, police said.

Beasley was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center, where his condition was not available, Quinn said.

Beasley faces these charges: felony fleeing and eluding an officer, DUI, reckless driving, felony habitual violations and several traffic violations.
