George Stagmeier is the police chief for the city of Hinesville Police Department.
HPD opened its current law enforcement center in 1998. Typically the police department has between 75 and 78 officers on its roster, but the department is authorized to have 81 officers.
The department handles traffic violations and criminal cases, both misdemeanors and felonies, within the city limits.

HPD does not handle the dispatching of police officers if you have an emergency or need a police officer within the city you should call 911.
