A Richmond Hill pilot died some time Friday when his plane crashed into a pond on Savannah's Southside, the Savannah Morning News has reported.
The planes' pilot is reported to be Arthur Gautreau, 77. He was apparently reported missing Friday night around 7 p.m. after taking off from Hodge Airpark off Hinesville Road.
Following an initial search Friday night, rescue personnel found signs of the wreckage in a pond south of Ga. 204..
The pilot's remains were located about 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
