A Midway man was arrested Thursday and charged with recent construction site burglaries in Richmond Hill and Midway.
Richmond Hill Police Department Det. Dana Strickland said Anthony Waldo, who lives in a trailer in the Lake George area, allegedly broke into a trailer belonging to Old South Lawn Care that was parked at a construction site inside Richmond Hill Plantation. Allegedly stolen on Jan. 12 was numerous lawn equipment including an edger, trimmer, backpack blower and a chainsaw.
Waldo was also linked to a theft in Midway a couple weeks prior, allegedly breaking into a trailer at a site across from Ida Mae and Joe's on Highway 17. Missing from that site was numerous tools used for vinyl siding.
Strickland said Waldo pawned most of the stolen equipment at pawn shops in Savannah and Midway.
Strickland said he got a few tips following a press release that helped in the arrest.
"I went by his residence in Liberty earlier today," Strickland said on Thursday. "When his girlfriend left the residence, I made a stop on her and she revealed that he was inside their trailer at Lake George."
Strickland said much of the missing property was recovered there  during the arrest.
Waldo is being held at the Liberty County Regional Jail on multiple counts of burglary.
