Another driver has been charged with drug violations after being pulled over in Walthourville by Liberty County Deputy Wade Long for displaying an improper tag on his vehicle.
According to an incident report, the driver, Lamar Jackson of West Palm Beach, Fla., told Long he was unable to find his driver's license and gave him his date of birth.
When the date failed to provide the deputy with the information he needed, Jackson started to give him the vehicle registration and insurance number. But he stepped out of the car and confessed that his license was suspended in Florida. He also confessed he lied about his date of birth.
Jackson was arrested.
Long walked over to the passenger, identified in the report only as Mr. Moore.
Deputy Long detected an odor of what he thought was marijuana and Moore told the deputy he and Jackson had just smoked a marijuana cigarette.
Long searched the car and found a green substance believed to be marijuana. The evidence was turned over to the Multi Agency Crack Enforcement Drug Task Force.
Jackson was charged with possession of marijuana (misdemeanor), driving with a suspended driver's license (third offense) and obstruction of an officer (false information).
