SAVANNAH — Savannah-Chatham police say they found two men dead within three blocks of each other in west Savannah.

The Savannah Morning News reports (http://bit.ly/o43MKZ) that the bodies were found Friday morning. Police are treating both deaths as homicides.

Neighbors say they heard gunshots and called police to an apartment house on West 41st Street around 4:15 a.m. Officers found a man believed to be in his late teens dead in the house, with drugs near his body.

Shortly after finding his body, police were called to a second body in the lane behind 38th Street, near Jefferson Street. Police say a man in his early 20s was found dead there.

Detectives say they are treating the investigations as separate, but are working to see if there's any relationship between the deaths.
