The Georgia Bureau of Investigations  Chatham County Narcotics division executed  search warrants earlier this week at two Liberty County homes.
According to GBI Special Agent Micah Ward, who is in charge of the drug enforcement office, the searches were conducted Wednesday at a home in the 300 block of Quarterman Road and a home on the 100 block of Ola B Lane in Midway.
Ward, who declined to go into specifics of the case, said certain items of evidence were taken from the homes and will be brought before a grand jury in the coming months.
No one was taken into custody at the time of the searches, but arrests are expected after the grand jury examines the evidence.
“We have been working long-term on these drug trafficking organizations,”  Ward said.
Law enforcement organizations that took part in the searches are:
• Georgia State Patrol
• Liberty County MACE Team
• U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
• Customs and Border Patrol
