Two residents at Cypress Bend mobile home park in the 900 block of E.G. Miles Parkway were victims of a home invasion early Friday morning, according to Hinesville Police Department Detective Jeff Lui.
The woman who lives in the home told police she heard a knock on the door shortly before 9 a.m.  Thinking it was a maintenance worker, she opened the door and said she was confronted by a black male wearing a wool hat with a small ball on top. The female victim said the man had no facial hair and appeared to  be in his teens. The assailant produced  a desert-camouflage-colored hand gun as he entered the mobile home. Meanwhile, another man  who had been hiding entered the residence carrying a shotgun.  The second man was wearing a black mask, Lui said.
The woman’s boyfriend was asleep in a bedroom when he heard the commotion and went out to investigate. The detective said the assailant holding the shotgun pointed it at the woman while the other man trained his handgun on the male victim.  
According to what the female victim told Lui, the men demanded money. She told them she had cash in her purse. The woman’s boyfriend told the assailants to take whatever they wanted and leave. While the gunman holding the pistol searched the woman’s purse, the gunman with the shotgun struck the woman in the head with the butt of the weapon.
They took the woman’s money and fled the mobile home in a late-model white Nissan Maxima driven by a third man.  
As the gunmen exited  the mobile-home park, the male victim jumped into his vehicle and chased the suspects. The man with the shotgun stuck his weapon out the Nissan’s window and fired once at the victim’s vehicle hitting, the driver’s side front wheel well.
The assailants turned right on E.G. Miles Parkway with the victim still in pursuit. They made a right  onto Live Oak Church Road, where the victim lost sight of them. The male victim was not injured in the shooting.
The female victim was treated at Winn Army Community Hospital and released.
