The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce announces the appointment of Desiree Riley as its chief operating officer.
Riley has been responsible for greeting visitors, processing outgoing mail, sending weekly update emails and the Liberty Pulse, organizing staff meetings and managing Leadership Liberty & S.C.O.R.E. (Service Corps of Retired Executives) appointments. Her new duties also include scheduling and conducting interviews, human resources management and managing special events and programs such as the Liberty County Magazine and the Chamber’s Annual Board Retreat.
“We are grateful to have Desiree on our team and appreciate the experience she brought with her from prior positions, as well as all that she has learned in her last three years with us,” said Liberty County Chamber of Commerce/ CVB CEO Leah Poole. “Her work ethic and qualifications make her an exceptional addition to our team, and we are sure Desiree will continue to help Liberty County thrive.”
Riley is a military brat who lived in Statesboro for about 11 years when she was younger. When she got older, she decided to study for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English at Georgia Southern University.
“My experience with the Chamber has been great so far. I’ve really enjoyed getting more involved with our community and meeting so many wonderful people. No two days are the same, so there’s always something new to learn and do at the Chamber,” Riley said.
