RLSF begins stewardship of Geechee Kunda
RLSF begins stewardship of Geechee Kunda
Jennifer Grace Jennings

Jennifer Grace Jennings, CEO of Funlayo Grace and a Goldman Sachs Black in Business (BIB) alumna, has announced that Rebecca’s Little Survivors Foundation (RLSF) is officially under contract to steward the Geechee Kunda Cultural Arts Center and Museum in Riceboro.

Her maternal Gullah Geechee heritage, rooted in Charleston, South Carolina, is the soul that draws her to this work, while her father’s Nigerian roots allow her to serve as the bridge that tells the story and connects the dots across the Diaspora.

The site sits on a former rice plantation, and Jennings’ mission centers on preserving its rich cultural heritage and the 1930s Praise House as a sanctuary of resilience.

“Geechee Kunda is not just a purchase — it is a promise to the ancestors and a tribute to the values my mother, Rebecca, instilled in me,” said Jennings. “The Gullah Geechee story is powerful, and it is important to me that we preserve the history for those who will outlive us. Reclaiming this soil is a sacred duty; my roots allow me to tell this story and connect the dots for future generations.”

The “Assets & Ancestry” National Tour

The stewardship coincides with Jennings’ national “Assets & Ancestry” tour, launching in March 2026. Designed as an empowerment series, the tour will feature mini-panel discussions, interactive workshops, and book signings for her works, including Homelessness to Homeownership. The tour provides a roadmap for generational wealth, with inaugural stops in Staten Island, NY (March 19) and Newark, NJ (March 21), followed by dates along the South Carolina coast.

Institutional Excellence and Stewardship Advised by senior Wall Street and global financial architects, Jennings will develop the site into a premier hub for cultural exchange and intergenerational learning. The Reverend Terence Alexander Lee will serve as interim executive director/chaplain, centering the transition in faith and community voice.

The transition of this landmark site was made possible through the vision of Mark Mosely. A renowned regional change agent and “the people’s champ,” Mosely identified Jennings as the essential leader to carry the Geechee Kunda legacy forward and is currently spearheading the project’s strategic Gullah Geechee corridor’s stewardship acquisition.
