Seabrook Village Foundation holding open house
Seabrook Village
Visitors at a previous Seabrook Village open house see how an old water pump works. The Seabrook Village Foundation is holding an open house and meeting Saturday.

The Seabrook Village Foundation is hosting an annual meeting and 0pen house Nov. 18 at the historic Seabrook Village. This nonprofit has been committed to the preservation and celebration of the cultural heritage of African Americans in Liberty County for more than 30 years. The current board of directors is inviting the public to learn more about the current plans to reopen the site.

“The Seabrook Village Foundation is hosting this event to give residents of the Trade Hill community, locals and visitors insight into our future plans, exclusive access to explore Seabrook Village for free and an opportunity to volunteer for future projects,” said Krystal Hart, president of Seabrook Village Foundation. “Our main goal is to reopen the site so we invite everyone to come be part of the work to help shape the future of the site.”

The annual meeting begins at 9 a.m. offering attendees an exclusive glimpse into the foundation’s vision for Seabrook. Guests will learn how they can participate in the revitalization of this landmark. The meeting will take place at 660 Trade Hill Road, Midway.

From 10 a.m. to 12 noon, guests can explore the property and experience free tours that showcase the current state of Seabrook Village and the Martha Randolph Stevens Park. Visitors are encouraged to sign up as volunteers, becoming a part of the mission to preserve this historical treasure.
