Senior Citizens, Inc. opened a new senior center in Liberty County on Aug. 6. And through the Meals on Wheels program, SCI has expanded its home-delivered meals services for seniors in this area.
Social, educational and recreational opportunities are provided to anyone over age 60 in safe, friendly environments. Hot lunches are served at the center — free to seniors —  along with group activities and programs.
There are no dues associated with attending the center, but certain programs and events may require registration. Free transportation to the center may be available. Contact the director of the center for details about transportation.
The center is at 302 Gen. Stewart Way (at St. Philips Episcopal Church). Hours are  9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
