Operations are back to normal at Liberty Elementary School and Midway Middle School after a brief lockdown Monday morning.
At approximately 7:38 a.m., Liberty Elementary and Midway Middle implemented a full lockdown because of a nearby police pursuit. Passengers got out of the vehicle being pursued and were seen fleeing close to the school campus.
In response, school staff activated the lockdown alert system, and all students and personnel adhered to established protocols. At no time was there any threat to the school. Law enforcement is present on-site, and normal school operations are ongoing.
