Soldier arrested in fatal Savannah accident

According to Georgia State Patrol Sgt, First Class David Laff a Fort Stewart soldier, Duane Rico Hall, was arrested around 7 p.m. Dec. 6 for allegedly being involved in a fatal wreck in the City of Savannah.

Troopers from Post 11 in Hinesville were called to a vehicle found on Highway 144 on post, which had damage to it consistent with an accident which occurred at Liberty and Bull Streets in Savannah.

The military police was notified and the vehicle’s tag was checked which showed the vehicle belonged Hall.

Hall was questioned by the military Criminal Investigation Division, according to Laff and is alleged to have confessed to the accident.  He was arrested and is currently pending charges.  He is being held at the Liberty County Jail.

According to Commander, Cpl. Shane Copeland warrants have been taken out on Hall and once served he will be transported to the Chatham County jail.
