Good times, good art and more will fill Historic Downtown Brunswick on Saturday March 13, 2021 as the downtown community celebrates St. Patrick’s Day all day long and into the night. There is fun for all ages during this early celebration of shamrocks and leprechauns, and with many of the events taking place outdoors, it will also be a safe environment to be wearing your green!
The first annual Silver Bluff St Patrick’s Day 5K gets started at 10 am followed by Beer Mile at 1 pm. Silver Bluff Brewing Company is hosting the runs, live music all day long, food and of course, beer- 14 beers in fact on tap along with hard seltzer. In partnership with King and Prince Seafood, Brunswick Old Town Tours, Reids Apothecary and Tipsy Mcsways, runners must sign up by March 10th to participate in this unique event and are encouraged to dress in their most festive St Patricks Day attire for prizes. Register online for the 5K and Beer Run via facebook.com/silverbluffGA/
Other downtown merchants will be participating in the festivities including Magnolia Market where you can get your official St Patrick’s Day mug with your picture on it for only $15 and Blue Cottage Pottery will have you making shamrocks and four-leaf clovers. Painted Planet Art Studio will teach you and/or your kids to paint leprechauns at 10 am and at 1 pm ($30/participant) and local artists will be in the squares demonstrating their style and selling their art.
Music will fill the air in the Brunswick Music District with Peter A. E. Roth performing Irish music in Machen Square from 11 am to 1 pm; music in Silver Bluff’s Beer Garden from 2 pm til 9 pm, and Jeremy Riddle from 3 to 5 and Tie Dyed Sunset from 5 to 8 in Jekyll Square. And wrap up the evening with a great performance of Baskerville, a Sherlock Holmes comedy, at Brunswick Actors Theatre at 8 pm.
And how about that Pot of Gold? Just purchase your raffle ticket for $10 at many of the shops and restaurants downtown and you will have not one, but two chances to win up to $50 cash! Your raffle ticket also includes $100 worth of discounts at many of the downtown shops and restaurants that are good through the month of March, so even if you don’t have the luck of the Irish for the pot of gold, you’ll still get great savings on unique items and tasty fare! Drawings will take place at 11:30 am at Machen Square and 2:30 pm in the Beer Garden at Silver Bluff Brewery.
