ATLANTA -- Georgia voters will decide between DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Vernon Jones and former state lawmaker Jim Martin in the Democratic race for the U.S. Senate.

The winner of Tuesday's runoff will face Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss in November.

Jones and Martin were the top voter getters in the state's five-man primary July 15th. Jones won 40 percent of the vote and Martin 34 percent. Only 18 percent of registered voters turned out in July and even fewer voters are expected to return to the polls for Tuesday's runoff.

Chambliss has $4 million in his campaign warchest and faced no primary opponent.

Polls are open from 7 am. to 7 p.m. throughout Georgia. In-person voters must present a government-issued photo ID.
