A man wanted by the Hinesville Police Department in connection with a video that went viral turned himself in Monday, according to the HPD.

The HPD began looking for Gene Elery Rhodes after a video on social media showed a man apparently intimidating a “visibly terrified” female, according to the HPD, “forcing her to say thing on camera while she is clearly suffering from a bloodied mouth and nose.”

Rhodes turned himself in Monday at the Liberty County Jail without incident. He faces felony charges of kidnapping and terroristic threats and misdemeanor battery. Bond has not been set.
