Tax deadline is Thursday

Liberty County’s property tax deadline, Feb. 25, is fast approaching, but according to the tax office, the majority of property owners in the county have already paid. As of Feb. 18, 64 percent of the projected tax revenue for 2009 has been collected, according to Tax Commissioner Virgil Jones. For more on this story, pick up a copy of Sunday's Coastal Courier.

Liberty County schools to have early release Tuesday
Remote learning to be held Wednesday and Thursday

The Liberty County School System will have a half-day of instruction Tuesday and will use virtual learning Wednesday and Thursday because of the risk of winter weather.

All school trips, after school activities and events have been cancelled from January 21-23

Release times Tuesday are:

·       Pre-K at 11 a.m.

·       Elementary at 11:30 a.m.

·       High School at 12:45 p.m.

·       Middle School at 1:15 p.m

Students should ensure they have their iPads/Chromebooks and will receive instruction pertaining to virtual learning on Tuesday.

LCSS will continue to monitor the weather conditions in the area and will provide updates regarding school status for Friday.
