Three injured in Long County wreck

Two Long County teenagers and one elderly Liberty County man were injured in a wreck in Long County on Saturday.According to Ludowici/Long County Fire Department Firefighter Tyler Hall, the accident tool place at about 10 p.m. on Rye Patch Road in Long County.Deputy Robert Parker of the Long County Sheriff’s Department said that a Nissan Altima collided with a Saturn Ion as both vehicles traveled east on Rye Patch Road.LCSD Deputy Cody Futch said that it appears that Long County resident Kim Sumner,  47, slowed her silver Saturn down to take a left off the county road, and was then struck in the rear by Liberty County resident Theodora Fleming, 47, who drove a silver Nissan.According to Parker, three people were injured in the wreck. Each was transported by ambulance to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville.Those injured included Sumner’s two teenage daughters and Futch’s father, Edward Taylor, 77. Their medical condition was unavailable early Monday morning.The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the incident.
