A Georgia State Patrol Trooper involved in a head on vehicle accident
was not injured Thursday afternoon, but both vehicles were totaled.
The trooper’s vehicle apparently crashed head on with another vehicle on
Talmadge Road in Walthourville.
According to GSP Trooper Brandon Smith, the accident occurred around 2:10 p.m. The
driver of a white pickup truck was rounding a curve on Talmadge Road near the
intersection of Vandiver Road and began to apply his brakes and slid head on
into the trooper’s vehicle, Smith said. Both men were treated by emergency
medical personnel and released on the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck is being cited for driving too fast for road
conditions.
