Truck hits restaurant, three people hurt
WoB accident
A work truck ran into the World of Beer on Monday at lunchtime, with two customers inside getting hurt and a passenger in the truck also getting hurt.

Diners at a popular Hinesville restaurant experienced a chaotic moment when a utility vehicle struck the building during lunch time, injuring two customers and a passenger.

According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Christopher Ashdown, a utility vehicle carrying ladders and various work equipment was traveling westbound on East Oglethorpe highway shortly after 12:30 p.m. when the right front tire blew out, causing the driver to veer into the parking lot of the World Of Beer. The vehicle struck a parked vehicle before hitting the building.

Ashdown said the two injured were complaining of back pain.  The passenger in the utility truck was injured when a ladder placed in the rear of the vehicle smashed through the rear window, hitting the passenger in the head.

Ashdown said the driver will be cited for traveling with an unsecured load.

Trooper Elmer Martin is the lead trooper investigating the incident.
