Police have arrested two men and are searching for two others in connection with the shooting death of a young Hinesville man on June 16.
David Anthony Jones Jr., 28, died at Liberty Regional Medical Center after officers found him in his home in Tapco Mobile Home Park, suffering three gunshot wounds to the stomach.
HPD Chief of Detectives Maj. Thomas Cribbs said Tuesday that Rodriquez Platt, 19, was arrested at Cedar Hill Mobile Home Park in Walthourville and Jedediah Duncan, 19, of Hinesville, was arrested in Hinesville between noon and 1 p.m., both without incident.
They have each been charged with one count of murder. And armed robbery charges are pending.
Cribbs said arrest warrants have been issued for Steve Plair, 24, and Steven Bond, 17, both of Hinesville.
Cribbs encouraged the suspects to turn themselves in, but also encouraged residents to call in tips, if they know of the suspects’ whereabouts.
The HPD’s phone numbers are 368-8211 or 368-8215.

Saturday shooting

On the investigation of a second, separate shooting, Cribbs said there was no new information.
That shooting injured Kimya Spates, 18, early Saturday at El Rancho restaurant on West Oglethorpe Highway.
Cribbs said witnesses reported an argument between her and Erica Johnson, 18, also of Hinesville, ended when Johnson allegedly produced a hand gun and fired once at Spates.
She was reported to be in stable condition at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah over the weekend.
The case is under investigation and warrants are pending.
