United Way of the Coastal Empire recently hired Kristin J. Hopkins-Graham as the organization’s Area Director in the Liberty County office. Hopkins-Graham is responsible for the daily operations of the office, working with nonprofit partners, businesses, local government, and service organizations to meet the needs of the local community.
“We are excited to welcome Kristin to our United Way team and look forward to calling upon her strategic leadership, strong community engagement, and innovative thinking at this important time for our community and our organization,” said Brynn Grant, President and CEO of United Way of the Coastal Empire. “She is driven and eager to lead our work in connecting children, families, and individuals in Liberty County with the assistance needed to help them live their best lives.”
A qualified professional, Hopkins-Graham has spent the last seven years in Liberty County, where she most recently served as the Assistant Director of Community Development and Homeless Prevention Coordinator with the City of Hinesville. Hopkins-Graham provided information, advice, and counsel to the Hinesville Mayor and City Council. She was heavily involved in the creation of various programs regarding the strategic direction of the community. Throughout her career, she has maintained several positions in which she has advocated for residents facing difficulties.
Hopkins-Graham earned her associate of Arts degree in Christian Counseling and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology Crisis Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She attributes much of her education successes to the care and training she received from her grandmother, Mrs. Lola Hopkins who was a retired school teacher.
Hopkins-Graham is a devoted mother of four scholarly children— Lola, Dalen, Lena, and Carmie. She, along with her husband, Damien, inspire their children to have faith in God, set goals, and create opportunities based on talent and interest.
Hopkins-Graham is succeeding Jennifer Darsey, who was promoted to the Vice President of Direct Services and Impact earlier last year. Hopkins-Graham will continue to build on the great work that Darsey started in the Liberty County community.
