Fort Stewart's Moral Welfare and Recreation Department held an open house this past Saturday. The open house was held on Holbrook Pond and showcased all the army base has to offers its military members and their families as well as the civilian population who live nearby.
There were many vendors on hand allowing family members to try their hand at a makeshift archery range. There were vendors with live reptiles to include an baby alligator. There were many giveaway items as well.
Some took advantage of the warm weather to kayak on the pond, and do some fishing. The open house was set up for both military members and civilians to show what the installation has to offer in the way of hunting, fishing and fun activities. There was also a lottery drawing for members who registered for an upcoming alligator hunt.
