On March 10, the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting as a new selfie studio officially opened for business in downtown Hinesville. Business owner Khloe Villafane welcomed everyone to the It’s All About Me selfie studio, located across the street from City Hall on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and adjacent to Thomas Hill Jewelers.
The 21-year-old entrepreneur said the name of the studio supports positive affirmations.
It’s All About Me (IAAM) is a pop-art selfie studio, the first of its kind located in Hinesville. According to its website, IAAM is a place from which you will leave with beautiful memories and also a newfound confidence within yourself.
“You come in and you take pictures, and we have several different themes,” Villafane said. “We have backdrops and interactive props, so it is a little twist on a photography studio.”
She said she came across her first selfie studio while attending school in North Carolina.
“And so I thought, Why not bring this to my hometown?” said Villafane, a marketing major.
“It’s a great day to be downtown,” said Liberty County board Chair Donald Lovette. “When you see activity along the main corridor, it means a lot to the citizens, and a lot to the development and synergy of downtown.”
“To see activity on this end of this facility is something that we’ve been waiting for,” said Hinesville City Manager Kenneth Howard.
City Mayor Allen Brown said his one regret was that his daughter, Meredith, was not in town, saying she would likely be the studio’s No. 1 customer.
Brown praised the young entrepreneur.
“When I was 21, I never thought about anything. I was thinking where the next beer party was,” he said in jest. “And she is getting into business for herself and in beautiful downtown Hinesville, Georgia. So, thank you so much.” Villafane said it’s been a great learning experience, and she is glad they are finally opening the studio for all to enjoy.
She thanked the city and city officials, her staff and all the people she credited in helping her get the studio open. She also thanked her parents for their support.
The studio is open Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. For more information, call (833) 422-6886 or visit their website at itsallaboutmeselfie.com/.
