VIDEO: Walthourville holds autism awareness event

The City of Walthourville held an autism awareness event Saturday morning to bring awareness to the misunderstood disorder. 

The event was held in Johnnie Frasier Park and brought out various agencies, such the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Stewart Exceptional Family Services. 

There were plenty of events for children, including pony rides and games.

Remote learning to be held Wednesday and Thursday

The Liberty County School System will have a half-day of instruction Tuesday and will use virtual learning Wednesday and Thursday because of the risk of winter weather.

All school trips, after school activities and events have been cancelled from January 21-23

Release times Tuesday are:

·       Pre-K at 11 a.m.

·       Elementary at 11:30 a.m.

·       High School at 12:45 p.m.

·       Middle School at 1:15 p.m

Students should ensure they have their iPads/Chromebooks and will receive instruction pertaining to virtual learning on Tuesday.

LCSS will continue to monitor the weather conditions in the area and will provide updates regarding school status for Friday.
