Vote count complete, one race changes

It took an extra day, but the preliminary results are finally in for all of Liberty County's polling precincts.
According to local officials, a technical glitch in retrieving nearly 800 votes cast during advanced voting week caused the delay in reporting, which caused much frustration among residents and candidates.
Although most of the races remained the same - Jim Thomas and Bob Pirkle will face each other in a runoff election for Hinesville mayor in December - the race between incumbent Patricia Green and Charlie Richardson has changed dramatically.
Green, who went home in the losing position election night, actually came out on top with the addition of the early voting numbers. Green received 214 votes to Richardson's 212 votes.

Here are the results from Tuesday's balloting:

Hinesville voters have apparently approved a proposition to allow liquor sales on Sundays.
The vote was 1078 yes or 56 percent of the 1,111 votes cast in the special election and 839 no.
The referendum calls for the city council to regulate the sales.
