The Long County Blue Tide Mario Kart 8 Deluxe team Wave Drifters are on the rise after winning their second straight game. The rolled past the Glynn Academy Terrors on Thursday, October 15.

The first set was never really in doubt for the Drifters as they opened up a 24-15 lead in the first race after a first-place finish by Jacob Beauchamp and second place finish by Marcus Walker.

Walker finished first in the second and sixth race while finishing second in the other three. Aiden Gutierrez had two first place finishes while Frederick Moore had his best set of the season, finishing third twice and fourth once.

The match was already wrapped up by the sixth race as the Drifters went on to a 140-94 win in the first set.

The second set was a little shaky at first as the Drifters trailed the Terrors 20-19 after the first race, but a first-place finish by Walker, second place finish by Beauchamp and third place finish by Gutierrez put the Drifters back in the lead 45-33 after the second race.

It was all up from there as Walker had another first-place finish and two second-place finishes while Beauchamp finished first in the fifth race. The Drifters went on to a 130-104 win in the second set to win the match 2-0.

They are now 2-2 on the season and looking to continue their upward trajectory toward their second straight playoff appearance.
