A Liberty County woman was injured Tuesday morning when her utility vehicle hit a log truck transporting freshly cut logs.
According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper, Stephen Jones, the accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. when the log truck was attempting to make a right turn onto Talmadge Road from West Oglethorpe highway in Walthourville.
Jones said it appears the woman did not notice the truck making a wide turn and drove into the logs which were extending from the rear of the flatbed.
The unidentified woman, 35, was conscious and alert at the scene. She was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah by ambulance. The woman received a bump and lacerations to her head.
Jones said the truck was marked with a flag and a warning light was found broken on the logs on the truck, and a battery that went to the light was on the ground.
The accident is under investigation.
