Woman stabbed multiple times, suspect arrested after chase
Wednesday stabbing
Police cordoned off a mobile home where an apparent stabbing took place Wednesday.

A Hinesville woman was stabbed multiple times Wednesday afternoon by the father of her child in a Hinesville mobile home park, according to law enforcement.

According to Hinesville Police Assistant Chief Maj. Tracey Howard the incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. when the father of the child attempted to gain entry into the residence after breaking a window, injuring a child in the process. While the man was attempting to climb into the residence, the woman fled to a nearby trailer, with the man in pursuit. The suspect allegedly began to stab her multiple times when he caught up to her. It is reported the woman’s ear was severed in the attack.

The suspect got into his vehicle to leave the mobile home park. An officer who was providing traffic support during a funeral procession on E.G. Miles Parkway witnessed the fleeing suspect strike a vehicle without stopping. The officer gave chase when the suspect spun out on E.G. Miles Parkway near Hollywood Drive, where he got out of the vehicle, running into the wood line on Hollywood Drive with the officer in pursuit.

The officer identified, as K-Ciasey Jones, arrested the suspect, who is facing an aggravated assault charge and cruelty to child.

Both the suspect, who received minor injuries, and the woman were taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville.
