FLEMINGTON — Work on Liberty County’s second Chick-fil-A establishment could start within the next year.
Flemington City Council approved the initial design for a Chick-fil-A to be built at the corner of Highway 84 and Flemington Village Boulevard.
The store will have two drive-through lanes, and its 5,000-square-foot restaurant will have a seating capacity of 70.
Andrew Wilson, an engineer with Bowman, the site architects, cautioned council members that a full set of construction drawings must be done and those have to go through permitting.
“We don’t have a date nailed down,” he told council members. “It all depends on getting our permits in order to start construction.”
Should plans be finished and go through permitting, though, Wilson said it is likely work on the restaurant could start within a year.
According to the initial design, entrance and exit to the restaurant would be from Flemington Village Boulevard.
