Enhance spring's beauty
Keep Liberty Beautiful
Keep Liberty Beautiful logo

Our community is beautiful in the spring with all the flowers and trees blooming. It will be even prettier when we cleanup the litter “decorating” our roads.

Join one of the upcoming citywide cleanups to eradicate litter so the beauty can shine through. We’ve already had several hundred volunteers kick off the annual Great American Cleanup. They have spruced up areas in Hinesville, Midway, Walthourville and Gum Branch.

Upcoming cleanups include:

April 9 Riceboro citywide, Flemington citywide and East End cleanup and Geocache Adventure begins

April 16 Hinesville citywide

April 30 Walthourville citywide and Allenhurst citywide

We provide the supplies, water and even superhero T-shirts for volunteers. Volunteers are also treated to an appreciation picnic by the cities and sponsors.

If these days conflict with your schedule, pick a date and an area to make a difference in and we can provide the supplies.

We are accepting nominations for our attractive business Win-dex Awards through Thursday. Two businesses are selected each quarter. We provide yard signs for the winners to display and the chamber, our partner for the awards, provides a plaque and other incentives.

Forms are available at the Keep Liberty Beautiful office (call 880 4888 or email ) and Liberty County Chamber of Commerce office (368 4445). You can also email your nomination and the location and the reason you think they deserve an award. Feel free to nominate your own business or employer.

We are also taking nominations for this season’s HomeProud Program through Thursday. You can help recognize a neighbor who works to keep his or her yard attractive.
