Editor, On behalf of GWD Management/McDonald’s restaurants, we are requesting help from local business owners with providing back-to-school supplies for children throughout Liberty County and Hinesville. We would love for your businesses and customers to help us reach our goals.

Since 2009, we have been active supporters of education in Liberty County and Hinesville, and we’ve helped local schools coordinate fundraisers that have garnered more than $100,000 since the start of the program. We always are looking for new ways to help children in our community further their education and provide to those who need it most.

Here is how you can help:

1. Provide a monetary donation so we can purchase back-to-school supplies.

2. Have a back-to-school supply drive at your business.

Our staff will come by to collect all items Wednesday to prepare for our back-to-school rally Friday. As a contributor, you and your business will receive McDonald’s coupons to share with your employees and with each customer who provides a donation.

The event is from 5-9 p.m. Friday, at the Walmart McDonald’s in Hinesville. It will feature $1.99 Happy Meals; a guest appearance by Ronald McDonald, who will sign autographs and pose for photos; face painting; arts and crafts; and chances to win prize packs from McDonald’s. Prizes including coupons for discounts and free food and beverages, school supplies and more.
For more information, call marketing manager Danielle Yates at 536-9920 or 876-9301 or email danielle.yates@us.stores.mcd.com.

Thank you for your help and continued support of education throughout Liberty County and Hinesville. We appreciate all that you do.
