Keep Liberty Beautiful
Keep Liberty Beautiful Staff and Advisory Board are so excited to share all the great and fun activities with everyone for the Earth Day Celebration. This Friday! We will transform Bryant Commons into an Environmental Explore Zone for children and adults.
This year there will be food trucks for you to enjoy. There will be three food trucks and they are Blessed 4 Less Barbeque and Seafood Food Truck, Maui Wowi Southern Paradise, and Miss Katie’s Sweets LLC. We will also be giving away fruit trees during this year’s Annual Earth Day Celebration! To reserve a tree, please go to signup genius and search with our email: klcb@libertycountyga.com. One tree per household, please. We will also have some mobile gardens, and flowers and vegetable seeds available to give away.
We hope everyone will come out to learn more about the Earth and why we should take care of it, like planting trees and plants. We live on this fantastic planet full of beautiful green plants, colorful trees, and blue water. This is a beautiful world, but it is also a fragile world. We need to take care of it. That is really what I think Earth Day is all about.
We invite you to be our guest at our 18th Annual Earth Day Celebration on Friday, April 19. We want everyone to enjoy our world and help take care of it daily. You must stop by the registration tent to get your passport before you enter the celebration.
I do not know how you like to celebrate, but to me, the word celebration means FUN in capital letters, so that is what we aim to do on Friday!
I hope you will join us because we think this event has it all, fun, games, crafts, music, and wacky activities, and it is free! This event has taken months of planning, prepping, thinking, and rethinking, and it will be something that you do not want to miss, no matter your age!
Earth Day is for our community and by our community. Over 50 organizations, businesses, clubs, and youth groups partner with Keep Liberty Beautiful to host a wide variety of 67 games, crafts, displays, and activities. We have several new games and crafts that share information about water conservation, stormwater pollution, litter prevention, recycling, waste reduction, and community improvement. Without all of these incredible volunteers and our sponsors, this event would not be possible.
At the Earth Day Celebration, you will learn about the problems that litter and stormwater create by journeying through a storm drain. That knowledge becomes fun, too! We have a Wild West approach to taking a shot at recycling. You can learn about water conservation and the difference that recycling can make by going through an earth-friendly obstacle course, including toilets and recycling bins, a tarp creek, and tires. There are loads of different activities for kids of all ages. And for you parents and young-at-heart adults that attend, there are plenty of things that you will enjoy, too, including a variety of garden containers, like our fairy gardens and herb gardens, as well as information on composting. There are so many cute and entertaining components of this event.
I wish I could share them all here, but that would spoil the fun! You will have to come and see for yourself! Taking care of the Earth should be a joy. It is our home, after all, and we are its stewards. For us, Earth Day is part of our stewardship.
So, plan to join us for the upcoming Eighteenth Annual Earth Day Celebration this Friday. Our celebration is taking place at Bryant Commons, from 3:30-6:30 p.m., in Hinesville. It is free, and it is fun! But the best part, honestly, is that it is information that we can all use in our lives.
Our planet could use a little help from all of us. Join us so we all can help protect our Earth.
