Keep Liberty Beautiful

Liberty County community, Keep Liberty Beautiful has so much going on that we cannot wait for you to join us for some real environmental fun!

First, help us celebrate as a county because KLB recently received the 2023 Governor’s Circle Award! KLB received it for outstanding achievements in community beautification and environmental sustainability. The Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation (KGBF) presented the award for exemplary performance in litter reduction, waste minimization, and community greening. Amanda Jeffers and Ashley Roberts visited the state Capitol in Atlanta to receive the award on our behalf.

KLB had to be certified and in good standing with Keep America Beautiful (KAB), the national nonprofit that oversees state and local programming, to qualify for the Governor’s Circle Award. Additionally, KLB had to be an active member of the KGBF network. “We believe everyone deserves to live in a clean, green, and beautiful environment,” said Natalie Johnston-Russell, executive director of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation. “The recipients of this award have made a tremendous effort to achieve that vision, and we’re thrilled to recognize their achievements.”

Volunteers are the Heart of the Keep Liberty Beautiful programs. Without them and our wonderful sponsors, KLB would not be the award-winning program it is today. We received so much support from the Liberty County community to run our programs like Rivers Alive, Great American Cleanup, the Adopt Liberty Program, Earth Day Celebration, Bring One For The Chipper, Recycle It! Fairs, and Arbor Day. When we all work together, it makes our community a better, cleaner, and beautiful place to live.”

The Keep Liberty Beautiful Staff and Advisory Board would like to thank everyone who takes the time to make Liberty County green, clean, and beautiful. Remember, you can do your part by volunteering to Keep Liberty Beautiful. Join us for the Countywide 2024 Great American Cleanup on April 27 and the City of Midway cleanup on March 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. You can register online at https://bit.ly/3Tglsms. All pre-registered volunteers will receive an official KLB Cleanup T-shirt while supplies last. Keep Liberty Beautiful also provides all cleanup equipment.

We invite everyone to Celebrate the Earth at our next Annual Earth Day Celebration on April 19 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Bryant Commons. We will have free activities for the whole family. This year, we will have food trucks to buy your favorite treats from. We are seeking volunteers to operate our booth stations for our 18th Annual Earth Day Celebration in-person event! All volunteers will receive a free T-shirt and all the supplies you need for your environmental activity.

Our 18th Annual Earth Day Celebration is a fun-filled afternoon with tons of educational, earth-friendly activities for the young and old to enjoy! This is a good way for businesses, social groups, churches, and schools to share information about what you have going on. If you would love to be a part of the dream team in making this event a huge success, you can sign up for the activity you would love to host by using this link: https://rb.gy/eyc8ag. You will need to provide the following information: Group/Organization/ Business Name Point of Contact Name Point of Contact Phone Number Point of Contact Email Address If you want to create and provide your own activity, that is fine, too.
