Tonight, the 17U St. James Coastal Crew Rebels will play the second best team in the country, when it comes to AAU basketball, as the Hinesville boys hit the hardwood in Chapel Hill, N.C., for the Bob Gibbons Invitational Tournament.

The Rebels will tip-off at 8:30 against the North Carolina All-Stars in what Rebels founder and coach Ernie Walthour said was the Rebels’ most amazing opportunity to date.

"You have so many teams coming from New York, California and all over the country," Walthour said. "He (Bob Gibbons) has several NBA-sponsored teams that are going to be there and it’s just amazing that we are going to get an opportunity to play against the best talent in the country. We’ve been practicing for the last month in anticipation of this tournament."

Walthour said this is the highest caliber talent his players will come up against and knows it will set the standard for the future of the Rebels organization if they finish well.

It will better prepare his team for the AAU National Tournament later in the summer.

"I’m in awe about just going there and coaching," Walthour said.
