Scott’s All-Stars played in an AAU national tournament July 16-22 in Hampton, Va.

Coach Marcus Scott IV said his team finished the tournament with a 2-3 record and made it to the elite eight round of the tournament.

"The kids gain valuable exposure and recognition while at this tournament," Scott said. "Going to nationals fulfilled its purpose because players got to see how teams across the nation played. It was a worthwhile venture even though we did not advance as far as we wanted to or could have."

The coach said Marcus Scott V, who is normally the teams leading scorer, was shut out the first two games. He said they faced tough teams from Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina and Pontamic Valley.
