Atlanta Dream holds a "name our mascot" contest for kids

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Dream mascot needs a name. Children are encouraged to color the Atlanta Dream mascot and submit a name by April 25.
The name chosen for the mascot will be announced at the end of April.  The winner will be recognized on Philips Arena court during a 2008 Atlanta Dream home game.

The Dream will tip-off its first regular season home game on May 23 at 7:30 p.m. against defending Eastern Conference Champions the Detroit Shock. The team was officially announced as the 14th team in the WNBA in the fall.
The Dream will be a member of the WNBA's Eastern Conference and play their home games at Philips Arena.  Other Eastern conference teams are the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Detroit Shock, Indiana Fever, New York Liberty and Washington Mystics.

Long County girls earn a spot in state duals Elite Eight
Lady Tide wrestling duals
The Lady Tide wrestlers celebrate with Aliana Morales after her deciding pinfall victory in the final match of the night. Morales won her match at 145 pounds just 22 seconds into the first round. The win propelled the Long County girls wrestling team into the state duals finals at Lumpkin County High School.
The Long County Lady Blue Tide wrestling team has been on the cusp of breaking through the last few seasons and the 2024-25 season is shaping up to be a historic one.
