BI boys place first, girls second at Tiger Invitational

The Bradwell institute boys’ track team scored 156 points in 16 events at the inaugural Tiger invitational Track meet March 7 at BI. The Lady Tigers finished second in their division with 126 points.
Among some of the top finishers were Naomi Williams, Chris Jackson and Miracle Fata. Williams placed second in the 100-meter hurdles (18.66 seconds), Jackson placed first in the boys’ 100 dash (11.25) and Fata placed first in the girls’ heat of the 100 dash (13.20).
Terrius Crimiel placed second in the 110 hurdles at 16.46 seconds. Eric Sanchez placed third in the 1600 run at 4:55.89.
Fata finished third in the 200 dash (27.34). Williams was first in the girls’ 300 hurdles (50.20), as did Crimiel for the boys (42.35).
Michaela Calvin placed first in the girls’ 400 run (1:01.55), and Crimiel placed third in the boys’ division (51.78).
In the girls 800 run, BI’s Katara Burks and Alicia Santiago placed first and third respectively at time of 2:30.58 and 6:07.16. Brady William placed third in the boys’ division at 2:07.93.
In the discus, Lady Tiger Kalia Burks placed second with a toss of 90-feet, 3 inches. Stephon Green placed second in the boys’ division at 114-6.
Lorenzo Brinson placed first in the long jump leaping 20-9.5, and Green was first in the shot put with a toss of 48-1.
Whitney Anderson was third in the girls’ triple jump leaping 31-3. Jackson also placed third in the triple jump at 40-feet 2.5 inches.
The Tigers did well in all the relay competitions. The relay team of Anderson, Elizabeth Santiago, Alaya Clopton and Michaela Calvin finished first in the 4x400 at 4:20.30 and third in the 4x100 at 51.85.
The girls 4x800 relay team of Elizabeth Santiago, Alaya Clopton, RaSheeda Wingate and Natalya Ocasio placed first at 11:30.91 and the team of Alicia Santiago, Kimberly Beasley, McKailyn Darsey and Aysiah Gibbs placed second at 11:38.51.
Luther Echols, Lorenzo Brinson, Crimiel and Jackson were first in the 4x100 relay team at 43.50 seconds.
Crimiel, Brinson, Brandon Anderson and Eric Sanchez took second in the 4x400 relay at 3:35.03.
The Tigers’ 4x800 relay team of Eric Sanchez, Tyler Delory, Dashawn Ricketts and Jesiah Grant placed second in 8:56.59.
The meet had 10 teams competing. In the boys’ division, Camden County placed second and Ware County finished third. Ware County won the girls’ division, and Camden County placed third.
