Tiger baseball earned a 15-5 run-rule win in the fifth inning over New Hampstead High Friday at Bradwell.
With the game tied 4-4 in the top of the third, the Tigers blasted in nine runs.
The boys added two runs in the fourth to hold and 11-run lead. The Phoenix managed to score in the top of the fifth, but the Tiger defense then put the game to rest.
Tiger D. J. Jefferson was 2-for-3 with a triple and 3RBIs. Ryan Desbians was 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs, Chris Bell was a perfect 4-for-4 with 1 RBI; Maxwell Ashe was also a perfect 4-for-4; Evan Crystals was 1-for-2 with 3RBIs; Brandon Woodard was 2-for-3 with 1 RBI and Stephen Felton was 2-for-4 with 1 RBI.
The boys got 19 hits and capitalized on four errors.
Tiger Darrius Tilghman pitched four innings, striking out five and walking two. Jefferson came in as relief in the fifth, walking one and striking out two.
Bradwell will host South Effingham Monday at 6 p.m. in their first Region 3-AAAAA matchup. The boys then play at South Effingham Wednesday and host them again Friday at 6 p.m.
