ATLANTA -- Road Atlanta is known for auto road races, but next spring the track in Braselton will take a new spin.
The track is slated to be the fourth of seven stages in the 2008 Tour de Georgia scheduled for April 21st-27th.
More than 100 pro cyclists and 15 of the best national and international teams will compete on Road Atlanta's 2.54-mile track on April 24th, the fourth stage of the cycling race.
It's the first time Braselton will be a host venue.
The four other venues that will host the tour for the first time are Statesboro, Suwanee, Tybee Island and Washington, in east Georgia.
The 650-mile tour will include a total of 12 venues and will wind along a route from the coast, through the north Georgia mountains to Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta.
