BI’s Parham named region’s top offensive basketball player

Parris Parham, who drained five 3s against Jenkins, lines up a shot against the Lady Warriors.

Bradwell Institute junior Parris Parham was named the Region 1-AAAAA girls basketball offensive player of the year for the 2023-24 season.

Parham averaged 19.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. The 5-foot-10 junior also averaged two steals and two assists per game.

Parham was joined on the first team by junior Jordyn Rogers and Jamia Ousley. Rogers, who missed the last four games with a knee injury, averaged 10.6 points and 6.1 points per game. Ousley, a 5-7 sophomore, scored 8 points per game and collected 3.7 rebounds per game.

Janiyah Blevins was named the region freshman of the year and senior Alyssia Estrada was named to the honorable mention list.

Statesboro’s Reya Johnson was named player of the year and Statesboro’s Alyssa Staten was named defensive player of the year. Ware County’s Mandy Lingenfelter was named coach of the year.
