The Long County High School boys basketball team held its awards banquet March 12 at the Western Sizzlin in Jesup.

The Long County High School boys’ basketball team held its awards banquet March 12 at the Western Sizzlin in Jesup.
Danaron Anderson took home the Defensive Player of the Year Award and earned a bar for his letter. Michael Abram took the Sixth Man Award and earned a bar. Josh Powers earned the Newcomer of the Year Award and his first varsity letter. Clay Strickland took home the Blue Tide Award and a bar. Brendon Scott took the Offensive Player of the Year Award, the High Academic Award and a bar. Jacob Bailey took home the Junior Varsity High Academic Award. And Stephon Hughley took the Junior Varsity Player of the Year Award.
Earning either a bar or their first varsity letter were: Shuvon Davis, Jeremiah Adams, Christian Bass, Jamin Davis, Trae Davis, Terry Smith and Xavier Stapleton. Taking home letters of participation were: Ezra Anderson, Zion Anderson, Keon Burns, Justin Carryl, Michael Chigawa, Dwight Coles, Cody Cox, Raheim Izzard, Holden Riddle, Alex Sanchez, Jamel Sloan, Gerald Williams and Elijah Wright.
Also recognized for their support and service to the team were managers Donnell Campbell, Demonte Cooper and T.J. McCrea.
