The Long County High School football team will hold its first scrimmage tonight, taking on Claxton High School at 7:30 in Ludowici. The Blue Tide are coming off a disappointing 2-8 season, while the Tigers went 6-5 last year and made the playoffs.Claxton passed 29 for 56 for 434 yards and three touchdowns last year and rushed for 1,495 yards and 12 touchdowns on 208 carries.While they lost their top rusher, the Tigers are expected to let quarterback Cornelius Taylor run with the ball and also will look to Darvis Small for big rushes.The Blue Tide put up some good numbers last season but failed to put up more points against solid opponents. The Tide rushed for 2,066 yards and 23 touchdowns on 390 carries and expect to have back leading rusher Brendon Scott.The teams will play four 10-minute quarters under regular guidelines, with kickoffs and punts allowed.
