Bradwell alumnus gets field time for Carolina Gamecocks

Former Bradwell Institute football player of the year, Kevin Harris, got 150 rushing yards on six carries and scored three touchdowns in his debut game with the University of South Carolina Gamecocks this past Saturday. 

The true freshman became the first Gamecocks true freshman to score three rushing touchdowns in a game since Marcus Lattimore had three against Troy on Nov. 20, 2010, according to 247 sports. 

Harris finished his season with 1,696 all-purpose yards and 24 touchdowns... rushed for 1,556 yards and 22 TDs, including eight 100-yard games as a senior at BI.

University of Georgia and Riceboro native Richard LeCounte had five total tackles in this past Saturday’s 63-17 win over Murray State. 

The Liberty County High School graduate is in his junior season at UGA where he was selected to the Preseason All-SEC Third Team Defense by media.

Last season LeCounte started 13 of 14 games and finished the year as the Bulldogs’ leading tackler, with 74 total stops, including a tackle for loss and three pass breakups. 

He had a career-high 10 total tackles vs. South Carolina and his first career interception vs. Alabama, with a 29-yard return.
