After falling victim to a lengthy comeback, the Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers nearly pulled off a miraculous rally of their own.

Harris County held on for a 50-48 win over the Lady Tigers in the Class AAAAA girls state basketball second round Friday, after Parris Parham scored eight points 25 seconds to pull the Lady Tigers back into the game.

Harris County will meet Cartersville, which beat Jefferson 66-64 in overtime, in the Elite Eight. Bradwell’s season ends at 23-6.

Bradwell led 30-17 at halftime, but the homestanding Lady Tigers hit back-to-back 3-pointers as part of a third-quarter run to cut the lead to 35-31. Harris County went up 39-38 with less than 5 minutes remaining, and hit two more 3s to extend the lead to 47-40 with under a minute to play.

But Parham converted a three-point play, then buried a 30-foot 3-point shot, and score from in close with 8 seconds left. Harris County got a foul on the inbounds and went to the free throw line to seal the game.

Parham had 17 points to pace the Lady Tigers, while Janiyah Blevins and Jamia Ousley each had nine points and Mikayla Oliviera added eight points.
