Bradwell rides hot shooting night past Liberty County

The Bradwell Institute boys completed the season sweep of rival Liberty County with a sizzling shooting night Saturday at the BI gym.

The Tigers raced to an 88-35 win, thanks to 22 of 27 shooting from the free throw line and 27 of 49 from two-point range.

Bradwell built an early 25-6 lead and took a comfortable 52-17 margin into halftime.

The Davion Mitchell Player of the Game award went to Jaylin Sweat, who had 13 points and six rebounds.

Chris Perry led all scorers with 19 points, while Keon Grant added 16 and Zi’on Thomas scored 10. Tyon Jones scored eight points, and Jordan Stevens had five points and 11 rebounds.

Elijah Brown had 13 points to lead the Panthers, and Aaron Brown had nine points.

The Bradwell boys improved to 13-3 on the year with the win, and the Panthers fell to 5-6.

The Tigers are on the road for the next three games, starting Saturday at Brunswick, and their next home game is January 21 against Glynn Academy.

Liberty will host Groves on Friday and host Windsor Forest on January 17.
